A big laugh into the face of all people who told me "don't waste so much time on that game" during my StarCraft career!

It did not only bring me to PokerStrategy.com – up until today, the contacts from this scene are just amazingly resourceful. A recent example: some of you might know Mondragon, one of the best non-Korean StarCraft players of all time. He currently does a kind of head hunting for us :)

Within four weeks, he established contact to a great Romanian editor, a Dutch poker expert and now even a very well qualified web developer! Especially the latter is so important tu us currently, because we have so many plans and you (the community) so many wishes that we are really desperate around our IT resources.

So if anyone tells you that playing strategic online games is a waste of time...

A short note to the web development front: I tested the first development version of our new "communication feature" that should be ready by late July – the first private message I sent on PokerStrategy for years! Good feeling.

Hey, how is everybody doing?

I am fine since I have completed a mission: Creating and establishing the german blogs. I think all of them, including this one thanks to Mr. Xantos, are running good, many posts, many comments, good feedback. I really like to thank all those who spend time blogging on our german blogs. But instead of slowing down my next goal is to get some new blogs in other communities and I can tell you that many Community Manager allready contacted me to get all the info they need. The english blog should be done soon, our russian community manager also has done good work and I think his blogs will be out soon as well. For the hispanic community we are still searching names because we will create some new blogs and I think the french-speaking board might get a blog in the future...

I think we won't reach the quantity of news in the near future but if all those blogs are as successful as the german ones we will at least have 100 blog posts every month! So keep on supporting all the bloggers, here on Confidential, on the DevBlog, on our community blog and make sure comments boost the activity in every way possible!

Good luck!

Got you – bet you thought I will write some news about PokerStrategy. No, I planned to talk about our news section.

I know, they are not perfect: still not too up-to-date, not covering every aspects, not illustrated in the best possible way. But we are working on it!

Because in the fast world of poker, good news can really mean a difference. Not only new things at PokerStrategy, but also at our partner sites are of course always worth a look.

While the quality of our news should only be measured by you (and we always like feedback!) or maybe the amount of comments (and we really like comments! ;]), the sheer quantity is also an interesting thing - especially if you look at the development over time.

This graph shows the number of news per month on PokerStrategy. As it is the sum of the news in all of our 14 languages, this number of course profited from our diversification to different languages. But even if you count that out, there is still a nice increase.

What do you think? Did this increased quantity also come with some quality? Where can our news improve?

By the way: thank you for the suggestions to my last blog post! I really appreciate that - and some of your suggestions already find their way into the statistics interface as well as the information pages that are currently developed!

I've got a question: what informations about poker sites / networks and the traffic of them are useful for you?

What came to my mind first were the classics: infos about network structure, bonuses, table layouts, compatibility with poker software... all those are rather static information. Okay, they might change from time to time, but it is an editor's job to provide these informations in a well layouted structure. And we will start to have that soon.

But what came to my mind second, was statistics. Sheer numbers. Traffic data. Are you as e.g. a NL100 player not interested in informations like "at which time there are the most open NL100 tables on which network"?

If you say yes or no here: in both cases you might help us a lot if you tell us what you think. Which statistics or static informations would you enjoy? What do you want us to analyze and put together for you as efficient reports that will help you?

Happy sunday, and don't forget to tell your mom about the PokerStrategy.com Summer Frenzy ;)

Sorry for the lack of blog posts in the last days - two reasons caused that:

1. I was really busy, especially with some visitors from the United States on Wednesday
2. I was really down on Thursday - because Pius had the idea to go our with our visitors :(

But now I'm back on my feet and worked through all I couldn't handle yesterday. And the first thing - of course - I do now is catching up with my blog activity.

Summer Frenzy

Maybe even today, latest tomorrow we will announce a nice summer promotion. We had a hard time deciding for it, as it is really really expensive - but we thought that we should give something back to all the people who made our community grow and become so intense.

The promotion will make it really worthwhile to bring some of your friends to PokerStrategy in the next weeks (so especially during the Euro Cup). Bringing friends to PokerStrategy – as everything else at our community – is supposed to be a win-win situation. The advantages:

* the community grows (and a bigger community is more fun to everyone, including us ;))
* poker is more enjoyable if you have some friends sharing this hobby/topic
* you get money through it due to our Tell-A-Friend programme

And especially the latter will be even better in June! :)
